Toronto police have updated information on the afternoon shooting that killed a mother of two

Toronto police are searching for another suspect in the slaying of Carolina Huebner-Makurat, a 44-year-old mother of two who was hit by a stray bullet during a broad daylight shooting on the city's east side last summer.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference Wednesday, Det. Ahmed Ali, 19, of Toronto, is wanted across Canada on suspicion of murder, Henri Marsman said. He faces two charges, including murder and robbery with a firearm, Marsman confirmed.

Ali's photos were also released by the investigators.

Huebner-Makurath was on her way to lunch in the area of ​​Queen Street East and Carlaw Avenue on the afternoon of July 7 when three men got into an argument and gunshots rang out. He was rushed to the hospital after being shot, but died a short time later.

Police have released pictures of Ahmed Ali, who is wanted across Canada.

Investigators said they believe the incident was an “armed robbery.”

Three people have already been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting.
