A man robbed a store with his son

WINNIPEG – A 31-year-old man has been charged with multiple offenses after a man armed with a machete and a handgun robbed a Winnipeg convenience store, police say.

The criminal threatened a security officer who had a child with him at the time and tried to intervene.

He put the stolen property in the boy's bag and they fled on foot.

After a chase with the shirt, the suspect was uncooperative with officers and was chased. The child was not injured.

Charges include robbery and failure to provide for the necessities of life of a child.
