Urgences-sante says to call 811 for non-emergencies as emergency services in Montreal and Laval are overwhelmed.

Emergency services say they received “a lot” of calls to 911 on Tuesday.

It reminds Montrealers to only dial 911 in the event of a life-threatening emergency.

The number of minor problems is 811, Urgens-sante said in a post on X.

“Help us take care of you,” they wrote.

Emergency rooms in Quebec were at 126% capacity Wednesday morning, with conditions worst in Lanaudière (178%) and Laval (173%).

In Montreal, emergency room capacity was 142 percent, with conditions particularly bad in Royal Victoria (218 percent) and Lake Shore (213 percent).
