Toronto weather: A blast of winter this week

Toronto's dry, unseasonably hot weather appears to be coming to an end soon.

The city is expected to receive moderate snowfall on Thursday, with Environment Canada predicting between five and 10 centimeters of snow.

“Be prepared for some snow accumulations on Thursday before temperatures return to normal over the weekend,” CP24 meteorologist Bill Coulter said.

Flurries are expected to begin Thursday morning, but periods of heavy snow may not begin until the afternoon.

Toronto's daytime high will be 1 degree on Thursday and -2 on Friday, the National Weather Service said.

Some waves and moderate daytime highs are expected through the long weekend before temperatures rise to 4 inches on Tuesday.

Toronto has seen unusually warm weather this winter, even breaking a temperature record last week when temperatures soared above 15 degrees on Friday.
