Toronto visits Boston, Ottawa visits Minnesota in PWHL action on TSN

PWHL Toronto travels to Boston looking for its third straight win, while PWHL Ottawa travels to Minnesota, Wednesday LIVE on TSN.

Crimson Natalie Spooner will lead PWHL Toronto to the Tsongas Center as they look for their third straight win against PWHL Boston.

Spooner was the catalyst for both of their wins before their trip to Boston.

He scored twice in a 4-1 PWHL win over Minnesota in Toronto on Feb. 3 and previously had both markers in a 2-0 shutout of New York on Jan. 26.

The 33-year-old entered Wednesday's game leading the league with seven goals.

Kashkyk's scoring streak was also credited to the recently concluded rivalry series. He scored once in Game 6 and twice in Game 7 as Canada dropped the first three games to win the contest.

Renata Fast and Blair Turnbull also scored for Toronto in their win over Minnesota as each player found the back of the net for the first time this season.

Goaltender Kristen Campbell stopped 24 of 25 shots in the win against Minnesota and stopped all 19 shots in the win over New York.

He is 4-4-0 with a 2.58 goals-against average on the season.

Boston went into extra frames in both games, snapping its current six-game home streak into the first two games.

Sophie Shirley scored her lone marker, her first of the campaign, as they lost 2-1 to PWHL Montreal in OT in their final game.

Earlier, captain Hilary Knight scored her first goal of the season in overtime as Boston defeated Minnesota PWHL 4-3.

Kali Fratkin, Taylor Girard and Alina Mueller also scored for Boston in the win.

This is the second meeting of the season between Boston and Toronto.

Lauren Gabel scored twice for Boston in a 3-2 win over Toronto on Jan. 17 at the Mattamy Athletic Center.

Hannah Miller had both markers for Toronto in the loss.

PWHL Ottawa, PWHL Minnesota

PWHL Ottawa is aiming to snap a three-game losing streak with its first ever home-and-home against PWHL Minnesota.

Aneta Tejralova, Lexi Adzia and Savannah Harmon scored for Ottawa as they blew a three-goal lead into their last game against New York.

Unfortunately, New York scored three unanswered goals in the third period to force the game into overtime, and Alex Carpenter fired home the winner to complete the comeback.

Haley Scamurra scored her second goal of the season as Ottawa lost 2-1 to Montreal on Jan. 27, and the streak began with a 3-2 loss on home ice against Boston, which featured offense from Christine Della Rovere and Adzia.

Adzia, the 65th pick in the PWHL draft, has been one of the highlights of the season for Ottawa.

An 11th-round pick from St. Thomas, Ont. native currently leads Ottawa with four goals and six points.

PWHL Minnesota returns home against Ottawa after a 2-1 road trip, including a loss in Toronto in its last outing.

Kendall Coyne Schofield had the lone marker for Minnesota in a 4-1 loss on Feb. 3 at the Mattamy Athletic Center.

They won 2-1 in overtime in New York and lost 4-3 in overtime against Boston on the road.

This is the second meeting of the season between Ottawa and Minnesota.

Grace Zumwinkle scored and Suzanne Tapani had two goals, including the overtime winner, as Minnesota cruised to a 3-2 victory Jan. 17 at TD Place.

Adzia and Harmon had markers for Ottawa in the loss.
