Wyoming police officer dead, shot while on alert – Winnipeg Free Press

SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) – A police officer who issued a trespass alert has been shot and killed in northern Wyoming.

Sergeant. Nevada Krinky died at a hospital after being shot in downtown Sheridan on Tuesday. Police Chief Travis Koltiska said in a statement that the male shooter surrounded a home a few blocks away after the shooting.

The standoff between the suspect, whose identity has not been released, and state and local police continued late Tuesday.
