Police have identified a suspect in a random TTC subway attack

Toronto police have identified a suspect after a random attack on a TTC subway rider on the Bloor-Danforth line last January.

According to investigators, the incident happened on Sunday, January 14 at around 21:45 on a train approaching Pape station.

On the train, a 19-year-old boy, according to the police, was hit in the head with a wooden object by an unknown man.

Passengers helped the injured victim off the train while the suspect was on board.

The suspect has since been identified as Robert Olah, 44, of Toronto.

“Olah is in custody and before the court on other matters,” the police said in a statement. “The investigation is ongoing.”
