Montreal gas prices are expected to rise by 14 cents on Thursday

Montreal drivers are bracing for a double-digit hike at the gas pumps Thursday as prices are expected to rise by 14 cents at midnight.

In Montreal, pump prices will rise to 188.9 cents/litre from Wednesday's 174.9 cents/litre.

Gas Wizard oil analyst Dan McTeague says a 14-cent jump is expected in Quebec and Ontario.

It is believed that this is due to the increase in wholesale gas prices.

According to McTeague, the last time gas prices were this high was in August 2022.
