More than 60 charges have been laid for smuggling cocaine across the Ontario border

An Ontario man has been charged with more than 60 counts of smuggling large quantities of cocaine between Toronto and Montreal.

In a press release issued Wednesday, Ontario Provincial Police said 20 illegal firearms and 73 kilograms of illegal drugs were seized during the investigation.

The drug trafficking investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Montreal Police Organized Crime Unit.

On March 27, two search warrants were executed at a vehicle and residence on Riedel Avenue in Toronto. Officers seized about 60 kilograms of cocaine, about 13 kilograms of methamphetamine, 19 handguns and assault rifles, 3,000 rounds of ammunition, 53 bullets and four drum magazines, and 66 Glock automatic switches. plus three bulletproof vests and one ballistic helmet.

Ontario Provincial Police have seized weapons as part of a drug-trafficking investigation.

A 35-year-old man from Whitby, Ont., identified by police as Bradley Nelson, was arrested in Toronto in connection with the investigation.

The defendant is charged with 68 counts, including multiple counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm knowing it is unlicensed, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm for sale.
