A Winnipeg Jets superfan never misses a game

Although Winnipeg is full of die-hard hockey fans, there are those who claim to be the biggest Winnipeg Jets fans.

Jeff Bakurian hasn't missed a Jets game since 2011.

He said that he was able to plan his life around the games and did not miss important life events.

“I didn't miss anything important or significant,” he said in an interview with CTV Morning Live on Wednesday. “I always made time for them. As for the jets, they've always been there on the radar.”

Bakuiran said when the planes returned in 2011, he knew he didn't want to miss anything.

He noted that players even thank him at games.

“When you're outside the sixth wicket every game, they're going to see you and you're going to see them,” he said.

“It's gotten to the point where (they give) a quick wave or a quick chat with them. Some of us are naming names right now.”

Now that the Winnipeg Jets have made the playoffs, Whiteout Street Party tickets go on sale today.

That means 5,000 fans can watch every home game from Donald Street between Portage and Graham Avenues. Tickets are $10, with $5 going to United Way Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Jets defeated the Seattle Kraken 4-3 on Tuesday. The Jets play their final regular season game on Thursday against the Vancouver Canucks.
