On Thursday, April 18, Sport Manitoba will celebrate its annual Night of Champions.

Organizers say the annual event “recognizes the passion and dedication of the people who lead our thriving sports system.” Winners celebrate with friends and family at an invitational dinner at the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. This year's winners include:

  • Official of the Year – Greg Dzioba (table tennis, Winnipeg);
  • Volunteer of the Year – Resby Coates (curling, Melita);
  • Athlete of the Year – David Hawes (figure skating, Winnipeg);
  • Team of the year – Team Einarson (curling, Gimli);
  • Coach of the Year – Gabrielle Wishart (volleyball, Portage la Prairie).

“These winners have shown incredible dedication and passion in 2023 and throughout the years in sport,” said Janet McMahon, President and CEO of Sport Manitoba.

“It is an honor to celebrate their impact and contributions as they represent Manitoba in everything they do. We sincerely thank the sponsors, volunteers and staff of the event for making the Night of Champions possible.
