The Maple Leafs will face the Bruins in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs

Stay tuned, because Round 1 of the Eastern Conference Stanley Cup Playoffs is about to get really interesting.

After Tuesday's results, all four series in the East are officially set, and with it comes some fond memories for Toronto Maple Leafs fans.

With the Florida Panthers leapfrogging the Boston Bruins to claim the Atlantic Division title, Toronto will now face the Bruins in the first round.

It's an original 6 rivalry with no shortage of storylines, including an epic collapse in Game 7 of the 2013 series. The Maple Leafs gave up a 4-1 lead with five minutes remaining.

The two teams also met in 2018 and 2019, with the Bruins dispatching the Maple Leafs twice. The last time the Maple Leafs beat the Bruins in a playoff series was 1959.

After winning their first playoff series in 19 years last season, Toronto will now have a chance to exorcise their demons this season against the Bruins.

In another exciting matchup, the Panthers host the Tampa Bay Lightning in an always exciting battle in Florida. The two teams faced each other in 2021 and 2022, with the Lightning winning both times.

In the remaining two series in the East, the Carolina Hurricanes will face the New York Islanders, and the Washington Capitals will battle the New York Rangers, who won the Presidents Trophy.
