3 suspects who forcibly took away Lamborghini and BMW cars were arrested

Toronto police say three carjacking suspects rammed police cars and left officers with “complete disregard for their lives” Friday night as they attempted to evade arrest in the area of Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West.

All three suspects were arrested and are facing robbery and weapons charges.

Police say the trio is responsible for the violent, armed carjacking of high-end vehicles — a 2024 BMW X5 worth about $175,000 and a 2021 Lamborghini Urus worth about $400,000.

The first incident happened on Saturday, April 6 at around 2pm in the area of Ellesmere Road and Kennedy Road.

Investigators say the victim was getting out of his BMW in the parking lot when three suspects jumped out of a nearby SUV.

The suspects, wearing all black clothes and masks, approached the victim and demanded his car keys at gunpoint. They fled in a car. The victim was not injured.

A few days later, on Thursday, April 11, police say four suspects approached the owner of a white Lamborghini Urus at a gas station in the area of Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue.

“The suspects assaulted the owner several times before they eventually took the victim's keys and fled in the Lamborghini,” police said in a statement.

“The other men involved fled in another vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.”

When police spotted a stolen Lamborghini in the area of Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West around 10:27 p.m. on Friday, April 12, the driver followed it into the parking lot on Barmack Drive and entered the establishment.

“While monitoring the Lamborghini, officers observed a BMW X5 pull into the same parking lot that was involved in the April 6 carjacking,” police said in a statement.

“As the BMW attempted to leave the area, officers arrived to make an arrest.”

But according to the police, the suspects did not comply, climbed the hill and hit several police cars as they tried to escape.

All three suspects were eventually arrested.

Provider Andy Singh said police had to smash a car window and deploy a Taser to stop the suspects, who he said showed “nothing but complete disregard for one man's life.”

“These criminals are violent,” he said at a conference call on Tuesday. “They pose a very serious threat to our residents and our officers.”

Both of the stolen vehicles were recovered, and police said $18,000 in cash and three firearms were seized during the arrests.

Mehkash Sohal, 21, of Mississauga, Dacon Green, 19, of Oakville, and a 17-year-old from Oshawa face dozens of charges.
