Snow delays cleaning Calgary streets

Street sweeping in some Calgary communities has been postponed until Tuesday due to snowy and wet weather.

The city says snow and ice accumulation can cause problems for sweeping equipment.

The Citadel (West), Legacy, Coventry Hills (North and East sections) have been delayed, he adds.

The deadline for cleaning unfinished streets in these areas will be moved to June 2024.

Updated cleanup schedules will be posted for affected communities calgary.ca/sweep within 24 hours.

Scheduled cleanups will continue Tuesday in Rosedale, Crescent Heights Avenues, Castleridge (South), Westwinds, Capitol Hill, Rosemont, Southview, Woodbine, Meadowlark Park, Mayfair and Belair, the city added.

The city also says it may go back to snow-covered communities as long as it meets standards for completion of sweeps.

The city-wide cleanup is expected to continue as planned on Wednesday.

Calgarians can find out when a street sweep is scheduled by visiting the city's website and using the address search function or by signing up for notifications.
