Tuch signed an entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens

MONTREAL – Senior striker Luke Tuch The Boston University ice hockey team has signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens, the organization announced Tuesday.

Tuch also signed a one-way contract with the Laval Rocket, allowing him to finish the current season in the AHL. His deal with the Canadiens runs through 2024-25.

A second-round pick by the Canadiens in the 2020 NHL Draft, Tuch enjoyed a stellar four-year career as a Terrier. He helped BU win the 2022 Beanpot, 2023 Hockey East regular season and tournament titles, and was instrumental in leading the Terriers to back-to-back Frozen Fours as an assistant captain. He had a terrific 2023-24 season, scoring seven points in his last nine games (3g, 4a), including a shorthanded goal in the NCAA semifinals against Denver.

Tuch had his best year as a Terrier this past season, setting new career highs in goals (10), assists (20), points (30) and plus-minus (+17). He missed just one game over the past two seasons and finished his BU career by playing in 121 games, scoring 31 goals and adding 40 assists for 71 points. Tuch also represented the USA at the last IIHF Men's World Championship, scoring in his tournament debut.
