A shooting in Winnipeg led to three arrests

On the morning of April 15, 2024, a 56-year-old man was admitted to a Winnipeg hospital with a serious gunshot wound. The victim was visiting a friend's residence in the 800 block of William Avenue when he was shot after knocking on the door. The victim reported the incident to the police, escaped and sought medical help.

A tactical support team responded quickly to the location. A man and a woman were arrested as they were leaving the residence. A third suspect, another adult male, was on the loose for some time before he was safely taken into custody.

The Serious Crimes Unit continued to investigate. At approximately 1:10 p.m., law enforcement officers searched the apartment. A modified rifle and a bicycle loaded with ammunition were found and confiscated.

Three people have been charged in connection with the incident:

Addison J LAROCQUEThe 25-year-old, who is suspected of involvement, faces several charges including willful discharge of a restricted or prohibited firearm, assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm without a permit and seven counts of failure to comply with a discharge order.

Peyton GOTT23 have been charged with crimes including willful discharge of a restricted or prohibited firearm, assault with a weapon and possession of a firearm without a permit.

Summer is YOUNG20, as well as charges related to his involvement, including willful discharge of a restricted or prohibited firearm, assault with a weapon and possession of a firearm without a permit.

All three suspects were detained in a detention center. The investigation is ongoing.
