Calgary has delayed reintroducing fluoride to its water supply

Reintroduction of fluoride to Calgary's drinking water delayed again Global news recently shared.

The completion date of the infrastructure renovation works at water treatment plants has been moved from September to the beginning of 2025.

Fluoride was removed from Calgary's drinking water in 2011. In November 2021, the city council voted to restore fluoride to the water with 62 percent in favor.

“Water suppliers have known since then that they had to do this. It's going to be another year and it's scary,” said Dickinson, a professor of family medicine and public health sciences at the University of Calgary.
