Officials will announce the winner of the $50 million lottery in Calgary

The whole country will soon know who won the big lottery jackpot in Calgary in December.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation is expected to announce details of the $50 million winner of the Lotto 6-49 jackpot on Dec. 9.

Alberta Lottery players have had a lot of success over the past few months, with the December 9 jackpot being the first of two big prizes won in the province.

The second, $70 million Lotto Max jackpot was won on Jan. 16 by someone in Alberta, outside of Calgary and Edmonton.

This winner has not yet been determined.
