Tim Hortons will start selling pizza on April 17 News

It's finally official.

After extensive testing at several locations across Canada, Tim Hortons is making it official Wednesday (April 17) when it begins selling flatbread pizza.

“We've been working hard at Tim's to develop new and exciting menu innovations for lunch and dinner…and now, after extensive testing and fine-tuning of the recipe, we're thrilled to be rolling out flatbread pizzas for our guests. across Canada,” said Hope Bagozzi, chief marketing officer of Tim Hortons.

The pizzas are made fresh to order and served hot after being baked in the oven, the company says.

Options include a $6.99 plain cheese pizza, mozzarella and Monterey jack cheese with tomato sauce on a roasted garlic bun, and an all-bacon flatbread pizza ($7.99 with double smoked bacon, herb and garlic cream cheese, mozzarella and Monterey jack cheese on a roasted garlic bun) included. Starting May 1, customers can order a flatbread pizza through the Tim Hortons app.

The announcement drew some strong, mixed reactions online.

“They've been out west for a while. I'm hearing good things,” Marion Sobey said on Facebook.

Marie Salah said on Facebook that she was in Toronto when she tested it last year and that it was “very good, but definitely a backup in the car because (it) takes about 10 minutes to prepare from what I remember.”

People are voicing their opinions on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“The sauce and cheese were delicious and the bread/crispy…crispy and buttery,” wrote @viennatho.

The announcement comes just days after the coffee giant unveiled several new menu items, including snacks and drinks, at restaurants and coffee shops across Canada.
