Olympic ambition
Design and architecture professionals and students from around the world are invited to propose creative and innovative solutions to give new life to roof components, including iconic cables supporting the current dome, internal and external membranes, and structural support fittings.

The initiative is part of a broader approach to sustainable development and the circular economy, which includes the design of an art course made from roofing materials. These actions provide a new purpose for the roof of the Olympic Stadium and benefit the people of Quebec.

Requested proposals must focus on climate change resilience and adaptation, which represent challenges of truly Olympic proportions. Consequently, proposals should focus on tangible outcomes that have the potential to improve the living conditions of residents during deployment by addressing neighborhood issues.

For example, proposals for, but not limited to, the following are expected:
strengthening of social and public structure;
creating cool zones;
development of all-season socializing spaces;
encouraging soft and active mobility;
stimulation of urban agriculture;
communication with nearby areas;
strengthening the connection between residents and the river
Proposals that achieve a high level of social acceptability

Certain factors must be considered to ensure the success of this reuse effort. Prospective proposals must demonstrate that they generate real environmental benefits and be part of a circular economy approach through their contribution to the environment and local communities. They should be structured, affect the areas surrounding the stadium, meet the existing needs of the population, and take into account the vulnerability of the area.

Quebec's heritage story opens a new page
The Olympic Park's mission to highlight heritage and heritage is aligned with the design of the Olympic Stadium. Built for the 1976 Olympic Games, it made a significant contribution to the growth of the metropolis.

A bold architectural masterpiece by Roger Taillibert, Olympic Park was built for the 1976 Summer Games and home of the Montreal Expos baseball club (1977-2004). Since its opening, it has hosted thousands of sporting, social and cultural events, boasting more than a hundred million visitors nearly fifty years later. The Olympic Park is a site of indisputable heritage value at historical, emblematic, architectural and urban levels.
