A worker was seriously injured after a fall at Montreal's Olympic Stadium

A man is fighting for his life after falling 30 feet from Montreal's Olympic Stadium on Monday, authorities said.

The fire department received a 911 call around 12:15 p.m. A spokesman for the Service de sécurité incindie de Montréal said it was a “quick rescue” and the man was sent to hospital.

Urgens-sante told Noovo Info that the man, in his 30s, was breathing and regained consciousness when paramedics arrived and that he was “injured.”

Olympic Park officials did not respond to CTV News' request for comment Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Quebec's workplace safety board, the Commission des Normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST), has launched an investigation into the incident.

Following the fire on March 21, the Olympic Stadium suffered severe water and smoke damage, which is now the subject of an investigation by the Montreal Police Fire Squad. Now more than 275 crews are mobilized to clean the damaged parts of the building and check the air quality.
