North Bay News: Montreal driver caught driving on Hwy. 17

A 26-year-old Montreal driver has been charged with driving on Highway 17 in the North Bay area, police said.

Ontario Provincial Police said in a social media post that the driver was traveling 153 km/h in a 90 km/h zone on April 6 in Calvin, about 50 km east of North Bay.

As a result, the driver's license will be confiscated for 30 days, the vehicle will be confiscated for 14 days, and he will be held accountable in court.

If convicted, the Montreal resident could face up to $10,000 in fines, up to six months in jail and must take a driver's improvement course.
