Fatal car accident in Lac du Bonne

A 43-year-old man from Pinawa was killed in a tragic car accident on Sunday afternoon. Lac du Bonnet Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) received a report of a vehicle in the bush at Highway 11 and Peterson Crescent in the Lac du Bonnet area at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, police officers found the deceased man in the bushes outside the vehicle. Despite a thorough search, no other people were found.

Preliminary investigations suggest the northbound vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on the 11 Freeway when it missed a curve. After that, the car entered the ditch, hit the ground and flew into the forest. The driver got out of the car during the accident.

An RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation into this fatal incident. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
