Brampton house fire kills 1

One person was killed in a house fire in Brampton early Saturday morning, Peel police said.

Emergency crews were called to the area of ​​Fernforest Drive and Hollybush Street at 9:40 a.m.

Pictures taken from the scene showed smoke coming from a residential building as first responders attended.

According to the police, one adult resident died after the fire.

Another adult and two juveniles were inside the home and were taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.

The fire was extinguished.

Police have not released any other details about the deceased. The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office was called in to investigate.

Road closures will remain in effect until further notice.
