In January, three people were charged after a pro-Palestinian rally at an office in Toronto

TORONTO – A pro-Palestinian group says it has been arrested for protesting at a Toronto business some of its supporters say is affiliated with Israeli causes.

The group, which calls itself Jews Against Genocide, said in a statement that on January 31, dozens of people marched into the offices of Awz Ventures around Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue West.

According to the police, a 33-year-old woman, a 37-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were detained.

All three were charged with damaging property, being part of an unlawful assembly and failing to leave a house when asked to do so.

Police say several people illegally gained access to a private business, and the accused interfered with the operation of the business and did not leave when instructed.

In a statement, Jews Say No to Genocide, Toronto police say they are on the wrong side of history and accuse them of selectively enforcing the law.
