Beth McDonnell | CTV News

Beth McDonell joined CTV News Toronto in November 2019 as a video journalist. After covering news in Eastern and Western Canada, he returned to his hometown to tell stories.

Previously, McDonnell was a video journalist for CTV News Winnipeg, where she covered a wide range of topics, including the surge in asylum seekers crossing the US-Canada border, tornadoes and wildfires, and missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

McDonell has worked as a reporter for CBC News in St. John's, NL, and as a producer for Canada's Discovery Channel and CTV News Channel. He also spent time at a radio station in Accra, Ghana. McDonell is a graduate of McGill University's BA in International Development Studies and Humber College's postgraduate journalism program.

McDonell likes to tell stories because he enjoys meeting and talking to people from all walks of life. When she's not chasing stories, McDonnell loves to explore the natural world. Depending on the season, it can often be found on the trails, skiing or hiking.

He speaks English and French.
