Edmonton Elks sign special teams dynamo Javon Leake – Winnipeg Free Press

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Elks signed All-American kick returner Javon Leake on Tuesday.

The move was made official shortly after the Leake CFL hit the open market. Edmonton signed Leake last week.

Leake was the CFL's special teams player of the year and a league all-star last season. He led the league in punt returns (81 for 1,216 yards) and touchdowns (four) in 17 regular-season games with the Toronto Argonauts.

Leake began his CFL career in 2022 with Toronto, helping the Argos win the Gray Cup that year.
