A man has been charged with attempted murder after the stabbing of a Toronto police officer


A 27-year-old man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly fatally shot a Toronto police officer.

Officers responded to a call about a person in crisis near the Tim Hortons at College Street and Lansdowne Avenue on Friday.

the officer was stabbed and the suspect was shot.

So far, the police say that there was a conflict.

Both the officer and the suspect were in stable condition Friday.

Charges against the suspect include four counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault on a peace officer, assault with a weapon on two peace officers and failure to comply with a release order.

The Special Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances of the incident.
