Winnipeg will release its 2024 budget on Wednesday

The City of Winnipeg is expected to release its 2024 budget Wednesday afternoon.

This comes after a preliminary multi-year budget for 2024-2027 was discussed at a special meeting of the city's executive council on Wednesday. The details of the budget will be released to the public at 2:00 p.m

The general public will then have a 23-day period to review the preliminary budget. The city will hold public meetings to hear from delegations on a number of days throughout March. A complete list of public meetings can be found online.

The final budget will be presented to council on March 20.

The City of Winnipeg has previously said it is facing financial pressures, including inflation, labor costs, the effects of the pandemic and a reasonable tax liability.
