It's a homecoming Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson.

The Winnipeg Sea Bears CEBL has signed a domestic international basketball player for the 2024 season.

“Playing professionally in my hometown is a dream come true and something I never knew was possible,” Ogungbemi-Jackson said in Monday's release.

“I can't wait to play in front of my friends and family and these amazing fans. I plan to use my leadership, talent and competitiveness to help me compete at the highest level every night.”

The skilled guard recently averaged 18.9 points per game for Tsmoki-Minsk, which ranked third in the VTB United League, often considered one of the top five international leagues.

Before turning pro, Ogungbemi-Jackson led her Garden City Collegiate Gophers to provincial titles. He would later go on to play his post-secondary ball with the Calgary Dinos.

Ogungbemi-Jackson is now the seventh professional player and sixth Canadian signed by the Sea Bears this season.

Winnipeg opens training camp on May 13 at Sport Manitoba in Winnipeg before traveling to Saskatchewan to face the Rattlers on May 22. The team's home opener is May 24 at the Canada Life Center against the defending CEBL champions, the Scarborough Shooting Stars.
