New Initiatives for Mental Health Access in Downtown Montreal

Minister responsible for social services, Lionel Carmant, on Monday morning unveiled three measures to improve access to mental health services in downtown Montreal.

New initiatives announced by the Minister at Notre Dame Hospital aim to reduce the use of hospital admissions for people who need specialist mental health support.

These initiatives, the Brief Psychiatric Intervention Unit (UIBP), Home Psychiatric Hospitalization and Brief Community Support Team (ABC) aim to reduce hospitalization and promote home care. .

They stem from the $1 billion Inter-Ministerial Mental Health Action Plan 2022-2026 (PAISM) announced two years ago.
