The Toronto Blue Jays are set to return several key players from the injured list

The Toronto Blue Jays, who moved to an even .500 mark heading into the weekend with an 8-8 season, are poised to bring back some key reinforcements early this week.

According to the Toronto Star:

Star closer Jordan Romano, catcher Danny Jansen and shortstop Eric Swanson have completed rehab assignments and are expected to be activated from the injured list by Tuesday.

The additions of Romano and Swanson in particular will be massive as the Jays look to bolster their bullpen outside of Yimi Garcia and Chad Green.

Romano is a two-time All-Star, going 19-15 in his career with a 2.67 ERA.

He has appeared in 59 or more games in each of the last three seasons and recorded 36 saves in each of the last two seasons.

Swanson has become one of the best hitters in baseball over the past two seasons, hitting 57 and 69 games, respectively. He struck out 75 in 66.2 innings last season and helped the Blue Jays return to the playoffs for a second straight season.

As for Jansen, he adds another potent threat behind the plate as he pairs with Alejandro Kirk to form the Jays' tandem. He's hitting .224 for the rest of his life, but he's hit 65 home runs, including 17 in just 86 games last season.

The Blue Jays begin a big division series with the rival New York Yankees on Monday night. First pitch from Toronto is set for 7:07 PM ET. Luis Gil (NYY) will start against Chris Bassitt, who is 1-2 with a 5.06 ERA.
