PLANNING TO MAKE TORONTO'S LIBERTY VILLAGE GREEN AND SAFE

The Liberty Village ZoomerPlex neighborhood may finally have more green space.

A document released by City of Toronto officials earlier this month outlines proposed measures to make the area greener and potentially safer.

It calls for the creation of new parks, including the 184 parking spaces currently available at Hanna and Liberty.

Deputy Mayor Osma Malik is a member of the Spadina-Fort York City Council, which includes Liberty Village.

“Especially for those who live downtown, those who live in high-rise buildings, our parks and green spaces are our backyards and are very precious,” explained Malik. is engaging with the community and what the future of Liberty Village looks like is making it accessible, safe, and includes spaces like these that can envision a truly great future for the neighborhood.”

Public events for the new park will begin later this year or early 2025.
