A car was shot at in the Anjou neighborhood of Montreal

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a man was shot into his car, shattering his back window.

On Sunday, the SPVM reported that around 6:30 a.m., shots were fired at a car on Highway 25 near the intersection of rue Bombardier in the Anjou district.

According to SPVM's initial information, the driver, a 54-year-old man, heard the sound of gunshots while the car was driving north.

“That's when the back window of his car was broken,” SPVM spokeswoman Sabrina Gauthier said. Fortunately, there were no casualties during this incident,” he said.

The suspect vehicle fled before police arrived, police said.

The Highway 25 service road, also known as Louis La Fontaine Boulevard, between Lamartine Street and Bombardier Street was closed to traffic and a perimeter was erected around the site.

Investigators were sent to analyze the scene and determine the circumstances of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
