Toronto's Vladimir Guerrero Jr. pushes for Yankee Stadium fans during a home run.

NEW YORK (AP) — Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s home run sent Yankee Stadium fans into a frenzy.

The Toronto Blue Jays star celebrates his home runs with a series of unique moves around the bases, including a swinging move when he goes into the third inning.

When Guerrero led Toronto past the New York Yankees by seven runs on Saturday night, fans in the Bronx responded with boos to his running order.

“It's something I do everywhere, regardless of the situation,” Guerrero said through a translator after the Blue Jays lost 9-8.

With the Blue Jays trailing 9-2, Guerrero led off the seventh inning with a 362-foot, opposite-field line drive to right-center off Luke Weaver for his second home run of the season. Guerrero showed the fans when he was between first and second base. He stopped near the shortstop and bounced, then continued rounding the bases. As he passed the third, he raised his right index finger to his lips.

“That's kind of his MO, always at third,” Blue Jays manager John Schneider said. “I've said it before: They don't hurt anybody in New York.”

Guerrero made a similar move at Yankee Stadium on May 25, 2021 when Corey Kluber was away.

“I started everything after 2020 and 21 and until today,” Guerrero said. “Just enjoy the moment. Everyone does different things like jumping, everything else and jumping, I do that and I like it.”

Both of his home runs this year were solo hits, his only RBI. He is hitting .182 (6-for-33) but felt more like himself Saturday.

“The quality is better, definitely, especially the last three at-bats,” Guerrero said.
