Natalie van Rooy is a multi-talented journalist at CTV News Ottawa, contributing across television, radio and digital platforms.

An avid journalist with more than a decade of experience in local news, he has covered major national events for CTV Ottawa, including the convoy raid, Hurricane Derecho cleanup, emergency act requests, Joe Biden's presidential visit to the nation's capital, and devastating coverage. Flooding in Quebec and one of the largest federal government employee strikes in Canadian history.

Natalie's in-depth behind-the-scenes look at Cambridge Memorial Hospital's ICU during the Pandemic was nominated for an RTDNA Award on CTV Kitchener. He provided live hits on the 2018 award-winning newscast of the Kitchener house bombing and was one of the only CTV reporters on the ground during the 2016 Attawapiskat suicide crisis on the James Bay coast for CTV Northern Ontario.

Her experience includes running the assignments desk at Global News Toronto during the Rob Ford scandal at City Hall. He also produced special coverage for Global News during the federal election and the Pan Am Games.

Natalie is passionate about international affairs, and in 2013 she spent the summer in Kigali, Rwanda, interning at the country's first private television news station. His work included reporting on the ground after a devastating grenade attack and conducting exclusive interviews with victims of the attack in hospital.

Natalie graduated with honors from Carleton University with a BA in Journalism and a double major in Law. Her passions include fitness and travel. He has completed five Toronto Half Marathons and enjoys discovering new hiking trails around the world.
