Calgary Kashmiri Community Celebrates Eid-ul-Adha with 'Eid Millan' Calgary – Canada:

MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times): In a vivid display of unity and cultural celebration, hundreds of Kashmiri families living in Calgary, Canada, gathered on Friday to participate in the post-Eid celebrations known as 'Eid Millan,' a media release said on Saturday. .

The Kashmiri diaspora community based in the US and Canada celebrated the holy festival along with celebrating the Muslim holy day to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Organized by Chinar Kashmir Community Foundation (CKCF), a non-profit organization dedicated to community development and preservation of Kashmiri identity, this event witnessed strong social and cultural bonds among the diaspora community. Established in 2013, CKCF has been actively promoting community unity through various activities, providing a platform for social interaction and cultural exchange.

With more than 300 members of the Kashmiri diaspora gathered under one roof, Eid al-Adha was a joyous occasion for all participants. On its 10th anniversary, CKCF recognizes the dedication and hard work of its members who have tirelessly contributed to the organization's growth and success. Key members of the Board were honored for their invaluable service over the past decade.

On this occasion, CKCF presented a special plaque to recognize the services of the following board members: Akhtar Hussain Kayani, Altaf Khan, Anwar Hussain Kiani, Asif Mehmood, Asif Nazir, Imtiaz Nazir, Inzar Shah, Janat Hussain (Shero), Khalid Khan, Khalid Mehmood, Khalid Naeem, Muhammad Riaz Khan, Muhammad Zahid Khan, Sajjad Hussain, Sajjad Tabassum, Saqib Khan, Shahzad Nabi, Syed Abrar Shah, Talib Hussain Khan and Tariq Mehmood.

CKCF would like to thank them on behalf of the community. The event was attended by Mr. Irfan Sabir, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and Mr. Happy Mann, Senior Advisor to the UCP Community Leader in Alberta. They distributed awards, certificates, two Umrah tickets and other prizes to the winners.

The members of the Board of Directors – Abdul Qayyum, Akhtar Kiani, Asif Nazir, Asim Khan, Imtiaz Nazir, Irshad Mahmood, Khalid Khan, Saqib Khan, Talib Khan, Tariq Mahmood and Zahid Khan – jointly thanked the community members for their participation.
