A Toronto Thai restaurant is closing after less than a year in business

A Thai restaurant in Toronto has suddenly closed after less than a year in business.

Ossington's Chill Thai Bar was a fun spot serving up Thai-inspired tapas for about nine months before quietly closing its doors last month.

Like the restaurants in Ossington, the restaurant will offer Thai twists such as Asian prawn cocktails and Tom Yum soup over a bed of spaghetti in late June 2023.

Their star seems to have been on the up and up, but the doors to the restaurant at 229 Ossington, which was also the former home of Mediterranean Bar Sibanna, have closed.

As they say, when one door closes another opens, and that old idiom holds true in the case of Chill Thai Bar.

The restaurateurs have moved on to a new venture: Muay Thai Theme Bar & Restaurant on Queen West, which held its grand opening in early March.
