Toronto Maple Leafs

Protector Mark Giordano did not participate in Leafs practice this morning.

TSN's Mark Masters says Giordano will be absent when he plays. He was on the ice for practice yesterday after missing Saturday's game against Ottawa. He suffered the injury last Wednesday against the Dallas Stars.

“It was more important that he put his skates on and feel good,” head coach Sheldon Keefe said yesterday of Giordano's lower-body injury.

Maple leaves St. Louis Blues tonight.

Masters are also noted Ilya Samsonov is the first goaltender off the ice and it looks like tonight will be the start.

Goalkeeper Martin Jones is not on the ice after yesterday's practice.

Looks like Bobby McMann is back tonight after leaving today's skate early. He practiced as an extra-forum yesterday.

Ryan Reaves, who normally skates, was not on the ice this morning.

Montreal Canadiens

Defenseman Kayden Goulet is on the ice this morning for practice after being pulled from Sunday's game St. Louis Blues early after big hit.

Guhle exited the game with less than two minutes left in the third period, leaving him in visible pain.

The 22-year-old has four goals and 12 points in 48 games this season.

TSN's Kenzie Lalonde lists the morning skaters:

Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkowski
Pearson-Evans-Anderson
Roy- Newhook – Army
Pezzetta-Ginac-Jlonen

Matheson – Guleh
Struble – Savard
Hekai – Kovacevich

Ottawa Senators

Goaltender Anton Forsberg practices in the morning before tonight's game against the Columbus Blue Jets.

Forward Zach McEwen was released yesterday to make room to activate Forsberg off injured reserve. Forsberg has been sidelined since mid-January with a hip injury.

Postmedia's Bruce Harryoch also says defenseman Artem Zub is not on the ice for the Senators this morning. Zub also skated briefly yesterday before leaving the ice with head coach Jacques Martin, calling it a maintenance day.
