Police sources confirmed that Abdikarim is on trial for shootings and gun-related incidents in Toronto and Peel.

Investigators released video of the shooting soon after to help solve the gruesome crime.

“It's absolutely disgusting,” 23rd Division. Ron Taverner said at the time that he thought gunmen were shooting directly across the street from the school “a lie.”

The victim lived, but it was close. He was paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair.

Abdikarim, then 23, was arrested soon after and charged with attempted murder. His friend, Shamuri White, 22, fled but was later caught in Columbus, Ohio and flown to Toronto.

Sorry, but this video could not be loaded.

Abdikarim was finally found guilty in court.

But after seven years, he was out of prison and free – at least until he was shot and killed on Thursday. It seems his past has come back.

Other than a description of the suspect vehicle, Toronto police have little information about the triple fatal shooting.

Hence, the cycle of violence continues. And will catch up with those who participated in it.

Peel Regional Police also knew Abdikarim and arrested him along with three others after the uninjured shooting at the Duke of York apartment complex on York Boulevard. center in Mississauga. This was in 2015 when he was only 21 years old.

A pistol, spent bullets, ammunition and drugs were found at the scene. But justice could not prevent further criminal moments. In the end, justice was served on the streets.

Who knows how many innocent lives will be in the crosshairs the next time a gun goes off.

Police are investigating links between the 2020 killing of 21-year-old Dimargio Jenkins, also known as Houdini, and the 2018 murder. Javante Smart, 21, aka Smoke Dawgthey also know that this gang war will not end there.
