“Diverse Men, But All Under One, Jesus”: Young Adults Conference Coming to Winnipeg

Young adults from Winnipeg and beyond are gearing up for the second annual Collide conference next month.

“We have a heart and a vision to see young people, a generation on fire for God and truly passionate about Him, stepping into their calling and purpose,” says Collide co-director Rhythm Knowler.

According to Knowler, creating a space to gather and worship in Winnipeg is one of the biggest missions. “One big belief within Collide is that we want something locally provided for our people. We're tired of our teenagers traveling all over the place to visit and meet God's presence and refreshing encounters with like-minded people of their generation.

Co-director Jordan Boczynski said, “It's a great slogan. We ask the Lord to save the lost and to raise the saved. Young adults need to know that there is more to their faith and relationships. There is more to the Lord than what they have experienced.”

At last year's conference, Boczynski says, “We've seen so many people rededicate, rededicate, and we're looking forward to what the Lord is going to do this year.”

While hosting one conference may have calmed the nerves a bit, Knowler says there's still a lot more to this year's event. “It seems easy to do a conference, but with a lot of logistics and details, we understand better, but you always want to achieve the best and you don't want to copy and paste, so I still feel like there is pressure.”

Figuring out all the details is not something the Collide team takes lightly. “There are hearts and souls at stake here that the Lord wants to come and destroy in the best possible way. There is a level of common sense for our guest speakers and worship leaders. Who do we trust to come and serve our youth well? There is some weight, but it is a good weight and the Lord uses it,” says Boczynski.

UPPERROOM and Circuit Riders will be in town for worship, and Winnipeg native Jenessa Waite, along with David Marvin, and Zach Nash will be speaking at the two-day conference. While excited about Collide's lineup, Knowler finally says, “We want Jesus. He's the main guest.”

“This year we're doing something very practical. It's called the Bright Room. It's a prayer and worship room from Monday, April 29 to Friday, May 3. Every day from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Buntein at Calvary Temple,” said Boczynski, who is leading the conference. anyone is welcome to come to the chapel and we would like the Lord to come and stay with us before the conference on Friday and Saturday.”

Both Knoller and Boczynski admit, “You don't want to do what's been done before, but dress it up beautifully and support the presence of the Lord. We have to prepare our hearts.” The knower says.

“A big part of our heart is unity,” Boczynski says. “We see it in the light room with over 50 different musicians and prayer leaders. Between them, about 25-27 different churches are represented, as well as 150 volunteers from 45 different churches. Different denominations, backgrounds and beliefs. But all of one Man. , under Jesus.”

Last year's conference drew people from all over the country and beyond. “Some great stats from last year. Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Toronto.” Bochinsky says.

Knowler adds, “North and South Dakota. Last year there was someone from Maui. It's amazing who the Lord is calling.”

Noler and Boczynski ask you to pray: “The Lord's appointments will be fulfilled. He knows who needs to come and makes a way for them to come, there will be no hindrance for those in need. For our volunteers. The Lord will bless them with rest and health and whatever we need to do, It will be done as we planned. And the Lord will be greater than us. Safe travels for our guests and artists.”

The Collide conference will be held May 3-4 at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street.
