Winnipeg police have arrested a man who stabbed a bus stop

The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) has made an arrest Monday after a woman was stabbed at a bus shelter in the River/Osborne area.

The incident happened around 19:00 when a woman was waiting at the bus shelter. According to the police, the suspect, who was also waiting at the bus stop, had an argument with the victim. Officers say the argument escalated and the woman was punched in the face and stabbed as the suspect wrestled with the bag she was carrying.

The victim boarded the bus and called the police. The suspect was found nearby and arrested.

A 48-year-old Winnipeg man is facing multiple charges, including robbery and assault with a weapon. He was released from custody on bond.
