Sean Litong | CTV News

Shawn Litong joined CTV News Toronto in April 2016 as a video journalist. Prior to that, Litong was a videographer/anchor at CHCH News in Hamilton, where he covered numerous headlines from Justin Trudeau's campaign headquarters to the 2015 federal election, the Calgary floods. 2013 and the Toronto International Film Festival.

After completing a bachelor's degree with honors in history and politics from Queen's University, Litong earned a master of arts degree in journalism from Western University in 2011. During his tenure at Western, he won the Hugh Bremner Award for Excellence in Broadcasting. his peers. Litong also won the Ursula Walford Memorial Award, as voted on by her classmates, for demonstrating “an outstanding degree of the human qualities essential to professional journalism.”

Off camera, Litong enjoys playing hockey in his spare time, having played Junior 'A' hockey for the Burlington Cougars as a youth. At Queen's, he played varsity hockey for four seasons and was named alternate captain his senior year.

As a child in Burlington, Ont., Litong regularly listened to CFTO World Beat News with his family, and he is excited and honored to work with the growing team.
