The Calgary Airport Authority welcomes Jennifer Pon as CFO

The Calgary Airport Authority welcomes its new Chief Financial Officer, Jennifer Pond, effective February 12, 2024.

With a distinguished career spanning more than 20 years of financial leadership, Pon brings a wealth of experience to the authority's executive leadership team as it embarks on a trajectory of sustainable growth.

Pon, a professional accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, joins the Calgary Airport Authority from Rogers Communications, where he served as vice-president of internal audit and risk management.

In his roles at Rogers Communications and Shaw Communications, Pon led the commercial finance operations, audit and risk management functions, and provided significant leadership in financial integration through company mergers.

From 2005 to 2016, Pon grew his career at WestJet, successfully rising in senior finance positions while leading WestJet's financial planning and analysis, strategic purchasing, audit and financial reporting functions.

At WestJet and Rogers Communications, he also led several non-financial departments, including business continuity, operations research, business intelligence and corporate reporting. His deep understanding of the aviation industry combined with his successful track record make him a valuable addition to the Authority.

“Jen will play a key role in managing the financial strategies of our growing airport as we strive to achieve national and global excellence. Jen's appointment is an important step in achieving our ambitions and we are excited to welcome her as the newest member of our crew,” said Chris Dinsdale, President and CEO of the Calgary Airport Authority.

His expertise in enterprise-wide change initiatives and change management, financial optimization, and large-scale enterprise resource planning (ERP) align seamlessly with the trajectory of the Calgary Airport Authority. His leadership and experience will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and growth of YYC Calgary International Airport.

A people-centered leader and champion of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, Pon's leadership furthers the authority's commitment to developing its people.
