Calgary Weather: Expect a shift on Monday

The weather will be gorgeous this weekend, but I'd resist the urge to plant anything outdoors permanently.

A ridge of high pressure that moved into the province on Thursday really started to settle in and brought Calgary up to 14 degrees by Friday afternoon.

Clouds have gathered throughout the day, but they will begin to clear overnight, with northwesterly winds cooling us down to 0 degrees.

The warming trend is intensifying towards Saturday.

Mostly sunny weather and winds blowing from the south at a speed of 20 km/h will increase the city to 17 degrees on Saturday and 18 degrees on Sunday.

As we reach the halfway point of April, we begin to turn a corner, with a low pressure system from the Pacific Ocean beginning to push over the province on Monday.

This system will drop our temperatures below seasonal levels next week and bring a mix of rain, snow and wind late Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Have a wonderful, warm weekend!
