Say What – “Back to the Horse”

Ryan Huska on Nazem Kadri's 900th NHL game:

“This year I felt he was a different player. I think he's taken it upon himself a little bit to make sure he plays the right way every game; for the most part, we've seen where it's been. competitive, he led our team offensively and was one of our most consistent players night in and night out. Seeing him reach game level 900 is pretty cool and I'm sure it will be fun. You know (laughs). People used to talk a lot about Kads like they talk about Pop now, and then over the years you mature and you grow, and he turned himself into a real complete player. We are lucky to have him on our team.”

When jumping against ducks:

“This is about us. Last night in two periods we weren't good and I would put it in the “horrible” category, then in the third period we were a little bit more competitive and got some momentum in our game. We've got to do that for 60 minutes, so whether we're on the road or the opponent – whoever it is – it's about our team and we're going to try to do it the right way and do it the right way. Your teammates who care about you and want to play and execute our game plan in a way that needs to be taken care of.”

On the back screen tonight:

“It's a back-to-back situation for us, and we haven't done well in the second leg this year, so this is our last chance to prove to ourselves, 'Hey,'” he said. Stick to the mental side of the game so we can be the best we can be tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing how our players perform tonight, I think we'll see a really good effort.”
