Loaded gun found during RIDE stop: Toronto police

Toronto police say two men are facing charges after a loaded handgun was found during a RIDE search on the beaches last night.

Police said they conducted a traffic stop in the area of ​​Lake Shore Boulevard East and Coxwell Avenue on Dec. 15 around 11:20 p.m.

According to them, two men were found in the car and an investigation is underway for traffic violations. A loaded handgun was also seized, police said.

Two men were arrested at the scene.

Tajian Alexander-Smith, 22, and Jogi Manuel, 18, both of Toronto, are now facing weapons charges, police said Saturday.

Alexander-Smith is also charged with driving while suspended, while Manuel faces two charges of failing to comply with a release order.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court on December 18.
