After days of rain in Toronto, two weather warnings are in effect

Keep your umbrella handy; Rain continues to fall in Toronto with gusty winds Friday afternoon.

After two days of steady rain, Environment Canada's rainfall warning remains in effect this morning, with rainfall totals expected to reach nearly 50 mm in some areas.

However, the rain should taper off by midday on Friday, with showers expected in the afternoon and fog lifting in the morning.

A special weather statement has also issued a warning for strong north-westerly winds, with gusts of up to 80km/h expected in the city tonight.

Strong winds could blow loose objects or snap tree limbs, the agency warned. Strong winds can also cause power outages.
