A North York stabbing suspect has been arrested

Toronto police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing outside a North York mall over the weekend.

Police were called to the area of Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue just after 6 a.m. Saturday to reports of a man with serious injuries in the roadway.

According to investigators, two men got into an argument in front of a shopping mall, and one of them was stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon.

Emergency crews performed life-saving measures when they arrived, but the man was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police identified the victim as 51-year-old Jolly Ahn of Toronto, the city's 19th homicide victim this year.

Earlier this week, police identified 67-year-old Alfonso Corpuz, described as armed and dangerous, as the suspect.

Police said Friday that Corpuz had been arrested a day earlier and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing.

Corpuz is scheduled to appear in a Toronto courtroom on Friday.
