ELMONT — Kyle Palmieri's game-winner at 1:17 of overtime lifted the Islanders to a 3-2 win over Canada on Thursday at UBS Arena.

Jordan Harris and Cole Caufield scored for the Habs. Harris' marker was his fourth in his last two games, and Caufield extended his point streak to six games with a goal and an assist against the Islanders. Nick Suzuki made it 12^th With an assist on Montreal's first goal, he scored a point in his last 10 games, and Mike Matheson scored his 50th.^thAssists of the season in Thursday's third period. With it, Matheson became the first Canadiens defenseman to score 60 points since PK Subban in 2014-15.

Samuel Montembo was stellar between the pipes for Montreal, making 31 saves against the Isles on Thursday.
